A free class for anyone interested in learning about pickleball will be Jan. 6 at the Admiral Coontz Recreation Center. . “Pickleball 101” will be 6-8 p.m. The class is limited to 24 people and registration is required at www.hannibalparks.org Tom Batenhorst, Hannibal Park Board president and Marion County ambassador for USA Pickleball, said, “Pickleball is a fantastic sport that combines physical activity, social interaction and enjoyment, making it an excellent choice for anyone looking to stay active and have fun. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced player, pickleball offers something for everyone.” Pickleball is a paddle sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton and ping-pong using a paddle and plastic ball with holes. It is a game that is appropriate for players of all ages and skill levels. Rules for pickleball are simple, making it a great introductory sport.
