Event Description:
Dr. Mun Choi, president of the four-campus University of Missouri system, will be the speaker July 21, 2018 for the annual student sendoff sponsored by the local chapter of the Mizzou Alumni Association.
The Great River Tigers Chapter holds this event each summer to promote Mizzou activities and send local Mizzou students off to school. The summer bash and student sendoff is held at the Jackson Park Golf Course in Palmyra. Social starts at 5:00 PM and dinner served at 6:30 PM.
A BBQ pork loin dinner will be served at a cost of $10.00 per person. Mizzou students are free. A special feature of the event is the giving away of four (4) to six (6) $500 scholarships. Winners will be selected by a drawing of students present.
Dr Choi became president of the University of Missouri two years ago. His efforts have resulted in increased enrollment and improved finances. He will update those attending on progress at the university system, especially the Columbia campus.
