Event Description:
The Quincy Bike Club is hosting a Memorial Day Bike Ride in memory of Charlotte Goldinger on Monday, May 29 that will benefit the James E. Cary Cancer Center.  Goldiner, a retired Palmyra school teacher, sho dedicated much of her free ime to cycling, often cycling 5,000+ miles annually. Then in March of 2015, Goldinger was diagnosed with leukemia.  During her two rounds of chemotherapy treatments and multiple blood transplants, she inspired many and continued to ride, racking up another 1,000 miles.  On April 14, 2016 she passed away, just a month before the annual Memorial Day Bike Ride.

"We want to keep Charlotte's memory alive.  She will always be remembered for her friendship and passion for bicycling-she will be missed," says Cathy Whitley, a friend and Quincy Bike Club member.

Last year with nearly 100 participants the Quincy Bike Club's Memorial Day Bike Ride and the Goldinger family raised $4,500 which was donated to the James E Cary Cancer Center.
