Applications will be available and staff will be on hand to answer questions about seasonal employment in the Parks & Recreation Department, Department of Public Works, Street Department and Hannibal Convention and Visitors Bureau. Hannibal Parks & Recreation applications are due March 10. Applicants must be at least 15. A variety of jobs are available, including lifeguards, concession workers, maintenance crew and sand volleyball referees. The Hannibal Aquatic Center opens May 27, pool jobs will begin mid-May. There are 10 lifeguards on duty at a time, so HPR hires about 22 lifeguards and 9 front desk-concession people. Applicants must be 15 and lifeguards must be Red Cross certified. HPR trains lifeguards before the pool opens. Lifeguards will also undergo in-service trainings twice a month and teach swimming lessons in June and July.
