Event Description:
The First Hannibal Eagle Days will be held at the Admiral Coontz Recreation Center, sponsored by the Mississippi Hills Master Naturalists and Hannibal Parks & Recreation Department. Activities will include eagle/nature related crafts and games for children. Master Naturalists will provide staffing with educational information for all visitors on how eagles became endangered and their recovery and answer questions. A short video on recovery the of the Bald Eagle will also be available for viewing. Spotting scopes will be set up on the riverfront at the Rotary Pavilion for the public to observe the live action of the eagles as they dive for food and roost in trees located across the river. Members will be available to assist the public with the viewing scopes. Be sure to dress warmly for outdoor viewing on the river.
