Time: 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM CST

Hannibal School District parents/guardians (ages 18+) and community members are invited and encouraged to learn how to help identify, prevent and respond to human trafficking during a community forum from 6p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 28 at Hannibal High School auditorium. *Students in grades 6-12 will also be given the opportunity to participate in age-appropriate training* This community forum will be led by Russ Tuttle, President and Founder of the Stop Trafficking Project (https://thestoptraffickingproject.com/). His organization uses communication, leadership, team development and compassion to combat domestic minor sex trafficking. HPS’s highest priority is to help ensure the safety, security and well-being of our students. To that end, HPS has partnered with Hannibal Alliance for Youth Success (HAYS) to bring the BeAlert training to Hannibal. The Stop Trafficking Project has used the BeAlert Strategy with more than 100,000 students in Missouri and Kansas via school assemblies designed to educate and empower students to be safer when online. The Stop Trafficking Project exists to end domestic minor sex trafficking before it starts by disrupting the exploitation of vulnerability. The BeAlert presentation is powerful, practical information, is designed for immediate impact, and has proven long-term influence in communities that engage with The Stop Trafficking Project.
